Brave Futures: CDMX 2026 — Imaginaries of Repair invites emerging filmmakers in Mexico City to imagine repair not simply as restoration, but as an opportunity to create something new.

Through three original short films created entirely on iPhone, participating artists explore what it means to mend, reclaim, transform, and reimagine our relationships to ourselves, one another, and the worlds we inhabit. Together, the films ask: What becomes possible when repair is an act of imagination?

“Imaginaries of Repair” offers a space to consider how cinema can open up forms of recomposition in contexts marked by violence, dispossession, social fracture, and erasure. Rather than imagining a total restoration or an impossible return to a previous state, this theme invites us to explore the images, narratives, gestures, and practices through which we rehearse other ways of inhabiting the wound.
